VPN
Cisco Anyconnect VPN (GMU VPN)
To access CEC computing resources such as Zeus, Oracle, and MySQL from off-campus you need to establish a VPN connection.
To do this, install the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client. Windows, Mac, and Linux clients can be downloaded from https://its.gmu.edu/service/virtual-private-network-vpn/.
You will also need to setup Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). Instructions are on the same page.
For General VPN Access
Once you have the client installed, open it and enter vpn.gmu.edu and click Connect. Sign in with your GMU ID and password and click OK. You will be prompted via the Duo app on your phone to authenticate. Once you do, the VPN client on your computer will connect.
If You Need to Remote into a GMU Computer
Instead of vpn.gmu.edu, GRAs will use vpn.gmu.edu/VS-SR and Faculty/Staff will use vpn.gmu.edu/VS-FS.
If you get an error trying to use these VPN servers, you may not have access. Email cechelp@gmu.edu for assistance and include the computer name of your device.
